Because I went to eat at different Japanese restaurants, I was expecting it to be very good. The Salmon Teriyaki was burned and crunchy, which, isn't what I wanted. I was expecting it to be cooked, but not overly done. I don't know what was wrong with the service here, but, they weren't friendly at all. That's okay though, there are many other good restaurants out there and I'm looking at other restaurants near by. Due to reviews of other Japanese restaurants in the area, even the Poke City has better food for a less price.

I went here during a trip, having picked it from a choice of sushi restaurants in the area. It was such a nice dinner I returned the next day. The price was good and the sushi delicious. The place was clean and the staff friendly and efficient.

This place was recommended for the artful food presentations, and those were spot on. The place is small, clean, with friendly service and what seems like a really varied menu. Prices are also reasonable. And yes, the platter presentations are fun! When our sushi platter came out, there was an ice sculpture, a little bowl of dry ice, and a lit up green holiday tree light bulb on the tray. It was cute and humorous. The food was okay, but nothing amazing. My husband said his chicken teriyaki was bland. We ordered rolls also, and they were okay, but we've had better rolls elsewhere. In fact, the fancier more expensive rolls tasted one note because they were way too smothered in that sweet sauce. My favorite roll was a simpler spicy salmon one, that didn't have the sweet sauce and the flavor of the different ingredients really came through. If I decide to go back, I guess the ticket is to stick with simpler rolls and stay away from the ones drowned in the sweet sauce.

So we were told to go here by our kids. And what a place! Amazing sushi with some different rolls I never had before. Located in the strip mall a hidden gem. Opened only for a year. Wish it was there when we lived around the corner. Well worth the trip and they are super nice and friendly. Can’t wait to go back next week!
